New phase in my life

I've noticed that after I finished school I've been watching more t.v. than ever before. After the kids go to bed I get me a snack, treat and sometimes a glass of red wine, seat and watch my recorded t.v. shows. There have been days in which I go to bed at 1am and I end up waking up really tired the next morning. Very sleepy.

I've been "wasting" too much time in front of the t.v. instead of reading the books I've been wanting to read. I have not touched my paint brushes or pencils or charcoals. I have not exercised. I have not done many of the things I said I was going to do after I got out of school.

I really don't know how I managed all the things I had going on while in school. I don't know how I managed the time and re-energized to do what I had to do. Maybe it was because I felt somewhat obligated. I had to be responsible with school work, I had to show results. That is why I decided that I am going to continue to do what I used to do. I am going to read the books I had been wanting to read, and I am going to dust and clean my paint brushes and start painting once again. I am going to take my art classes more seriously and practice more.

My birthday is coming up and I feel like every day is going by very quickly, and I am not doing a lot of the things that make me the happiest.  I've been thinking of the things I would like to do in my next year of life, I've been thinking a lot. But for now, I am going to pretend that my life is my school and that I am going to do what I want to do, and been wanting to do, regardless, no excuses, I am going to do it. I want to feel happy doing what I like, and feel like I am taking advantage of the time God gives me every day, because every day is a gift, regardless if it's crappy, normal or just plain awesome.

Lesson of the day

We were watching Thomas the Train the other day, something we rarely do but the kids asked to keep watching it, and we did. And at the end of the episode there was a song with lyrics that were related to the episode, and this was my favorite part of the song.

"Whatever job you're doing
make sure you're doing it right
start each day the proper way
all polished, shinning bright

Do your best but still have fun
so when you come home at night
you can say in every way
you tried to do things right ..."

These song lines are the Lesson of the Day, have a great week!

Weekend

Joe was off this weekend and that is always a treat. We went to see Kung Fu Panda 2 and we loved it! I think Joe and I enjoyed it as much or more than the boys did. The movie is hilarious, fun and has awesome graphics. Go watch it, you'll like it.

I went to a baby shower to one of the daughters of my friend a.k.a. uncle Polo. He was the manager of the restaurant where I used to work and he and his family are really nice people and are very special to me. She is having daughter #2

Later that day, the boys played in the yard with sprinklers and water.

Applied lots of California Baby Bug Repellent to baby David, because he's got a really bad reaction to bug bites and I don't want to use the OFF staff, and besides, this one works really well

Picked my herbs and dried some

Appreciated my backyard and lovely things that are growing out

On Sunday we went to our nephew's 6th birthday party, and didn't take any pictures because I was having as much fun as the kids playing the moonwalk and ball pit. Oh, good time I had. I felt like a little girl once again. Today is his real birthday so

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB!
 WE LOVE U

He loves green, all things outdoors, camo, four wheelers, and super heros:)

I finished the day with a the Power Yoga DVD with Rodney Yee, that kicked my butt! Legs are pretty sore right now, but it did so good to my lower back. I will do it again.

Have a great week!

Drinking Water App

Oh Boy!

It's HOT in the the South!

Could it get any hotter?

I hope not!

Stay cool my friends with the DRINKING WATER app, that is, if you have a smart phone.

The Drinking Water App looks something like this...

You can set the app according to your preferences. I'm many of you have heard or read that we all need to have an average of 8 glasses of water a day, but many including me don't do that.

Lately, I had been feeling very very thirsty and with frequent headaches, specially during really hot days like the ones we've been having here in the south.  I noticed I wasn't drinking enough water and by curiosity I went to the app market on my Android phone  looking for a water drinking app and THERE WAS ONE! And I LOVE IT! It remains me every two hours that I need to drink water, it beeps and it makes this water pouring sound that sounds very refreshing, making me go and serve me a glass.

Try it, you'll like it,  and in addition to that you'll be healthier :)

Have an awesome weekend, stay cool and drink some agua!
