MIA

Missing in action for sure.

We've been busy and really haven't had the time to seat down and write a post -particularly with pictures- my faves. Also, my sinuses were bothering me really bad during the weekend and the beginning of the week, so I had to lay down and get some rest with my boys, and nap time is usually the time I use to write the posts.

Anyway. We're here and haven't gone anywhere.  I hope you are all well.

Are you a Hunger Games fan?

I am.

I tried to avoid the whole Twilight phenomenon as eventually loving the movies and getting into "Team Edward"; however, but I'm afraid I've been sucked into this one, Hunger Games that is. I decided that at some point in my life I needed to be a groupie of some sort, and I guess this is it. I read the books after hearing about it everywhere from friends, internet, blogs, family, etc...And I LIKED it! LOVE it!

I've been looking for a shirt to wear for the premiere and there is so much out there. Some cool, some not so cool. Maybe not my type.

Anywho, I'll show you what I get when I get it. Right now, I'm liking 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and there is more. I know, I'm not making it easy.

What I see

I've decided I'm gonna create a series called WIS:What I See

In a previous post I posted some pictures of what I saw while I went jogging, so figure why not keep doing it.

I took these while we were on our way back from running with a friend. And as you can tell, I love taking pictures of nature and nature details. I have some more but didn't wanna use them all in one post, is that cheating? Nah.

See ya next time!

hi...

I hope you guys had a great Valentine's Day.

I had the opportunity to help at Anthony's class party and little D was there too. He enjoyed it so much. I think he is ready to school. Is he? I think so, I just don't like to think about it. He is my little boy you know? Can time go any faster? I HOPE NO! Dang, I miss my boy just thinking about it.

Anyway,

Valentine's day is always a sweet day. Yep, we got lots of candy. I got a bag of milk chocolate covered macadamia nuts from my love and... I ate most of the bag in one day. I had 1 left yesterday and I ate after lunch. Gotta go for a run ASAP!

I made these tiny felt envelops and we put the little valentine card inside them. I figure the kids could use them as wallets to put little treasure in.

I sneaked a picture of him eating some of those yummy macadamia nuts. At least I can say that he ate a few. And I didn't eat the package in its entirety ha!

He avoids pictures completely but I like him. I like to see his face. And this is proof that he in fact does exist. His incognito status has been officially revealed.

There is this beautiful Japanese Magnolia tree outside my in-laws house. It is so pretty. Probably one of my favorite trees. It's got these beautiful pink and  purple flowers.

I began to borrow books from the library, two in English and two in Spanish. We've read every book we got, so I decided that instead of buying them, I would borrow them.

We returned these already. Time to get more!

Our daffodils and other flowers have bloomed, but I think it's too early. This winter has been CRAZY!

Even though the weather is crazy and you really don't know what to expect, I like it. It's comfortable and bearable.

While on Pinterest today going through my Words Have Power board, I found this. So powerful and perfect. I wish it was that easy to understand. To recognize it 24/7.

Sometimes, we allow ourselves to not recognize the beauty of life because of some crazy superficial unmeaningful stuff that takes over our minds creating imaginary thoughts.

My life is beautiful. It is more that I ever imagined. I'm blessed, and I work everyday to see its real value. The true meaning of what matters most.

I wonder what they'll be...?

Over the weekend, we went to see our niece play volleyball. She is very talented and a great athlete.
We drove about an hour both days to see her play and to support her. My in-laws were there and it is always nice to see them also. I'm lucky to have amazing in-laws in my life. I really am.

While seating in the bleachers I looked around at all the parents, grandparents and family that had come down to see their girls play. It was nice. Many cheered for their girls even though they were loosing the game, and some cheered at pure excitement for winning. Either way, every girl was being loved and supported by her family.

I think often when I look at the boys, about what they would like to be or do when they are big. Lately, I think about it often. I don't know why. Or maybe I do. I think I just want them to be happy with whatever they choose to do. I know we all have dreams for our children but at then end, they will be the ones who will choose what they want to be. And Joe and I will support them in whatever they want to do. We both agree on that.

We want them to try whatever they want. No matter what it is or what people think about it. They are smart and we will support them and guide them to make the best choice for their happiness. I'm sure there will be times in which they will be confused and so will we, but I pray that we get the wisdom to be the best advisors we can be.

We face challenges as parents, but we choose this path of parenthood and we vowed to be the best we can be.

This feels weird mom!

I've been seeing online a lot of activities for kids with cornstarch and water. That simple.  So I decided to give it a try and the boys really liked the gooey stuff I put in front of them.

I didn't follow any recipe, I kinda just added a little bit of one thing and then of the other. One thing though, if you put too much cornstarch, it will be very hard to manage and really not enjoyable. So just go little by little if you decide to give it a try.

They really enjoyed it. David played a lot longer with it that Anthony did. We are gonna do that again, specially while I'm making dinner to keep them distracted, when they usually watch a movie.

The thing is pretty easy to clean. When I noticed it was getting messier than I thought it would, I put some old towels underneath the containers and that was better. Messy but better.

You should try it too, it's pretty weird and entertaining!

I am working on my embroidery. I've done two different things already. One I'm not that excited about (the first one of the two pictures next ), and the other, I like it. I just need to figure out what to do with them. I'm thinking that I make some pillows, we'll see...

I still need to dissolve the marker traces. The first one, I copied the design of my favorite tea box, and the second one I created.

What do you think?
