Deck The Halls

Ok, so the Holidays are shaping up around the house. The boys and I have already done a lot of the Christmas decoration, all we need now is to get the tree. We like to get a real tree, and we've been doing it for years now. Last year though, Joe found a tree that could be replanted once we were done using it. This year we plan on doing the same thing, and we also think that we can add a little tag or sign indicating the year that came to our house and spend the holidays with us :)

That being said, we have also started doing the Elf on the Shelf that Diane a.k.a. Nana got for the boys. Many of you may know what is about, but for those who don't, it's a little game about a little elf that comes visiting everyday and checks if the kids are being good. At night he goes back to the North Pole, and reports to Santa the good and the bad he saw throughout the day. The elf cannot be touched or it will loose its magic! Also, he needs to be named as soon as he arrives the house, and the name Anthony gave our little elf' is Duendecito, Spanish for little elf.  Everyday, the elf is found in different parts of the house, yesterday he was in the kitchen chandelier and today he is at the top of one of the picture frame against the fireplace. Anthony and David enjoy looking around the house trying to find the new spot where Duendecito is.

Isn't he cute? We hope everybody is staring to feel the Christmas Spirit and if not, we understand because this time of year has come back incredibly fast! We've just getting in the mood with the decorations, Duendecito, holidays candles smell etc....

Have a great weekend!

Advent Calendar

I found a really cute Advent Calendar without looking for one at the moment. I had been looking for one, and also thinking of making one because all the ones I saw where quite pricey. But while I was looking for Christmas stockings I came upon an advent calendar that caught my attention and the especially the price $19 when originally was $68 (Garnet Hill.com.)
I'm thinking of filling it with some treats for the boys and add some bible readings that are related with Christmas season

This is the picture of what it looks like...

Game

There is a game that the kids like to play. The game where you hide certain item in the palm of your hands and the other person is supposed to guess in which hand is. Anthony loves to play it and David is now learning to play it as well. Here they are in action...

Thanksgiving reflections

Thanksgiving is a wonderful day to get together with family, enjoy good food, yummy treats, spend time together building memories and give thanks.

We are so grateful for so many things in our lives.  We are thankful for having healthy, happy, sweet, good children who make our lives special, much more meaningful, and they make us laugh like no one else. We are thankful for having wonderful family who support us and love us for who we are. We are thankful because we are healthy, have shelter, clothing, and food on the table, while many don't. Many times we take for granted what we have, and don't realize the many difficulties other people go through, while we practically have everything and more we need to live and be happy.

And above all this, we thank God for giving us a new day of life, loving spirits and healthy bodies.
