These clothes are just too small...

The kids closets needed to be organized. All the winter clothes needed to be put away. So that's what I did yesterday, and it took me what it seemed all day to get all the clothes sorted out, but when I got to David's closet I realized I still had a lot of baby clothes out. I had baby towels, bibs, burp cloths, baby blankets, onesies, things like that.

I felt a little nostalgia while I was going through it all, it was a bitter-sweet feeling. I was a little sad because my babies were already not so babies, they are toddlers. I felt sad because time went by so fast I didn't even realized I still had those things out. But at the same time I felt happy and blessed to see that my kids are growing healthy and strong. I was happy because I enjoyed every little moment with them as newborns and infants. I held them all the time and did what my heart told me to do. I gave them my full attention, and rocked them to sleep even though many told me and Joe that all that, would make them spoiled, and the boys and us were going to have trouble later on, but guess what, they are awesome kids, they are sweet and happy, and yes, still spoiled. Why not? They still get disciplined and corrected when they are doing something they're not supposed to or are about to put themselves in danger.

We love our boys more than anything in this world, and when I looked at those baby items and clothes, I thought to my self: " My boys will ALWAYS be my babies, these clothes are just too small to fit their growing bodies".

So I went ahead and put them in the plastic bags that were waiting to be filled...

Weekend recap

The kiddos and I headed to Atlanta over the weekend to visit my family.

We left on Friday and arrived at my mom's hair salon where the boys and I got haircuts. I needed a haircut really bad and what better opportunity and what person to do it but mom. She is the only person that has cut my hair and I love it every time she does it. If you are in the Atlanta area, more like in Duluth, go see her at Innovations Salon and Spa which is located in Discover Mills Mall. She has a great team of people working there and they are all very professionals, I promise.

Anyway, on Saturday, we had lunch with my sister-in-law Lisa and niece Kayla at Ippolito's, an Italian Restaurant where the food is really good, but they give you too much, one kid's plate is enough to feed an adult and probably have left overs FYI. Oh! But the rolls! My goodness, they are so good! They come out really warm and with Parmesan cheese on top, mmmm so yummy!
After we ate we took the boys across the street to play at a water fountain- you know, the kind that shoots water from the ground? yes that kind- where there were many other kids playing. A fun and inexpensive way for kids entertainment :)

Sunday, we had a High School Graduation lunch party for my cousin Luis a.k.a Luise who graduated a week ago, and his proud momma could not help but celebrate his big accomplishment. My aunt and cousins are so close to us that I could easily call my aunt my second mom and my cousins my other siblings, we've always been very close and I loved all them very much.

I waited as long as I could but little David was like a zombie walking around, super sleepy and tired, so I got my boys in the car and headed back home. As soon as I got them in the car, they both fell asleep and slept half way home, sweet! We had dinner at Grandad Charlie and Nana's and then went home and got in bed. We were all very tired...

The End

Memorial Day

A day to remember all the fallen troops that have been in any war...

And why not to also remember all the troops that are serving the country to this day...

Lesson of the day

"Keep Moving Forward"
-From failure you learn, from success not so much-

We were watching the animated movie Meet The Robinsons and there is one part in the movie in which a little boy fails in fixing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich machine. But the family cheers for him and tells him it's o.k to fail, this way you learn, all you have to do is "Keep Moving Forward".

Something so simple but difficult to understand at times. We have to try more and often despite the difficulties that appear in our way, and don't let frustration overcome our capacities and abilities.

CHOM

The boys and I went to CHOM- Children's Hands-on Museum- for the first time on Wednesday. I really don't know why we hadn't been there before but we loved it! We attended the Moving and Grooving class that only lasts 30 minutes, where the boys actually sat down through the whole 30 minutes, well, except David, he danced a little and played with the shakers and sticks, while Anthony clapped at the end of each song and when the class was over he said: "Is it over?" I think he was ready to go and I don't know why because he loves dancing and he's really good at it too. I think he was intimidated. This is why we are definitely going back and try again.

The museum is located in Downtown Tuscaloosa and has lots of neat areas for kids to play at. My favorite was the bottom floor. Perfect for my two little ones. The boys loved it so much that Anthony had a fit because we were leaving.
If you live in Tuscaloosa, AL or surrounding areas I encourage you to go, specially this summer when lots of parents are gonna be looking for places and activities for their children who are going to be out of school. We are going back and we are getting the Summer Pass, which turns out to be a lot cheaper than each visit to the museum.

I'll let you with this video of my little monkey loving this particular chamber :)

Beach Bums

We spent a few days at the beach this past weekend and enjoyed every single minute of it. We went with two great friends BJ and Jayma and their baby girl Molly. Our boys and their girl got along really well and they were very sweet to her. They played, swam, built sand castles, napped and a lot more.

We were playing in the ocean jumping waves when a big wave came and got a bit of water in his mouth. I asked him if he was ok and he said:" Yeah, I think I got a little fish in my mouth" :) Hilarious!

My favorite little girl

"Look at the castle I made!"

This little boy loved LOVED the ocean. All he wanted to do was play in ti. And for your information he was not scared one bit. He wanted me to leave him alone -yeah right little man, you can dream about it!

While he napped....

...We made a big mountain and tunnel

These are just a few pictures of the many I took, I just wanted to show you a bit from our beach trip. We love the beach very much, the sound of the ocean, the aroma of the air, everything about it is great. I hope we get to go back again this summer...

We love Spring!

One of the reasons we love the Spring season is because the weather is so nice! It is just perfect to go to the playground :)

Lesson of the Day

Slow Down

  • Savor every second, minute, hour.
  • When in a hurry, sometimes things don't turn out the way we wanted them, because we don't pay attention to detail.
  • There are a lot more important things and beauty in life, but we often miss it.
  • We could make less mistakes.
  • We appreciate the people around us, and focus more on the good than in the bad.
  • Notice the importance in the little things.
  • We can get one extra hug and kiss.

What else do you thing we get when we slow down?

Mother's Day gifts

Even though Mother's Day already passed, we wanted to share the little gifts we made for some of our favorite mommas.

We went to Michael's, and Anthony chose this tiny bird houses to paint and decorate. We got some acrylic paint, and buttons to glue on.

This is what we made...

Some of our mommas have not received their gifts yet, but you soon will :)
