This feels weird mom!

I've been seeing online a lot of activities for kids with cornstarch and water. That simple.  So I decided to give it a try and the boys really liked the gooey stuff I put in front of them.

I didn't follow any recipe, I kinda just added a little bit of one thing and then of the other. One thing though, if you put too much cornstarch, it will be very hard to manage and really not enjoyable. So just go little by little if you decide to give it a try.

They really enjoyed it. David played a lot longer with it that Anthony did. We are gonna do that again, specially while I'm making dinner to keep them distracted, when they usually watch a movie.

The thing is pretty easy to clean. When I noticed it was getting messier than I thought it would, I put some old towels underneath the containers and that was better. Messy but better.

You should try it too, it's pretty weird and entertaining!

I am working on my embroidery. I've done two different things already. One I'm not that excited about (the first one of the two pictures next ), and the other, I like it. I just need to figure out what to do with them. I'm thinking that I make some pillows, we'll see...

I still need to dissolve the marker traces. The first one, I copied the design of my favorite tea box, and the second one I created.

What do you think?

Oh yummy ice cream!

How is your day going so far?

Today is gorgeous and it's even more special because my mom will be in town for a couple of days. I LOVE when I see her. She and I have a ver good relationship and I just simply adore her!

We had a very fun and relaxed weekend. A combination of both I would say. Our weekend began with a visit to our Granddad, Grandpa's and Joe's place of work. We try to go and visit at least once a week, so for a while now, I had been trying to remind my self to take some pictures while they are there to have as special memories. This day Granddad Charlie was the only one there, so we only got pictures with him.

Here they are invading his office as usual :) And see those paintings on the wall? The boys made those.

On these next, D was tickling Granddad and A was reading/playing a spy and find super hero book :)

Aren't those sweet? We love Granddad Charlie and spending time with him is one of our favorite things to do during the week.

On another note, I began and finished my very first embroidery project, and I really enjoyed doing it. I've been thinking of more things to create and can't wait to start another one!

Let me show you...

What do you think?

I like it :)

As always, we like to go to the park.

Yesterday, we went to have some ice cream and walked around campus. We took the boys to see the statues of the coaches and showed them the stadium.

David thinks it's comfortable for Joe to hold on to his dad's ears while he holds him :)

They were following Cougar prints!

Ok, so that's it. Now I'm off to enjoy these couple of days with my momma. I couldn't be happier.

Embroidery it is!

I decided what I want to learn to do.

Remember I said I wanted to learn something new this new year? Well, it is going to be embroidery. Why? Because when I was in Elementary and Middle school Sewing and Knitting were the crafts that were taught the most and I burned out then. Too much I guess -specially when there was no interest from my part whatsoever-. So I've been looking around and I think you can do some beautiful things with embroidery. Also, I've been wanting a sewing/embroidery machine for a while now, but honestly I don't wanna add one more thing to our house that's for sale. The less the better.

So I'm excited! I can't wait to go to the crafts store and choose my beginner materials. I've found some good tutorials in some blogs (1,2,3) and I can't wait to try it.

There it is.

Let the embroidery begin... :)
